I loved the book, but the audio is incredible. Rebecca Cook narates the Carpathians well, making them truly powerful but without them sounding brash or hard. She manages the portrayal so they exude quiet menace as well as soft vulnerability. She even thought to give Julian Savage an Italian accent as we are led to believe he resided for some time in italy. The only slight mishap is that the eastern european Gregori seems to end up as Gregory, apart from that its very well done.
