Our Philosophy
Books In Motion is one of the pioneers of the audiobook industry, and since 1980 has gained a reputation for high-quality audiobook productions in the unabridged format. Books In Motion publishes audiobook Mysteries, Action/Adventure, Romance, Historicals, Classics, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Christian Fiction, Americana/Westerns, World War, and selected Non-fiction.
All phases of the development of a Books In Motion audiobook are accomplished "in house." We do all the recording, editing, high speed duplication, and packaging in our state-of-the-art recording facilities in Spokane, WA. We produce audiobooks in CD, MP3 and cassette format. Our packaging is especially durable. Our vinyl book packs are made to our specifications with tough, heavy-duty vinyl, sturdier backing, and nylon webbing in the spine. Our recording media are the highest quality, proven to hold up under the toughest usage. If they are inadvertently damaged, we provide replacements immediately.
A similar tough criterion applies to our readers. We have auditioned over 600 potential readers and since 1980, only 30 have qualified to be a Books In Motion reader. Our readers are talented professionals and are rated among the best in the country. Past reviews in our catalog are testaments to our superior quality. A Note From the Founder
Dear Listener,
When Books In Motion was started, we decided that if we produced the highest quality audiobooks possible and made them available to the public at a reasonable price, then we could be successful as a business. It worked, and my faith in the ability of the public to recognize true value was justified. Additionally, I felt we had another obligation. We are an audiobook publisher, and as a publisher we have an obligation to the literary arts. We felt it our duty to offer new talented writers an opportunity to reveal their ability in audiobook form. And based on our customer response, we have done a remarkable job. Books In Motion was the first audiobook company to accept new manuscripts, publish them on tape and be successful at it. Why is that? It's because we listened to what our customers wanted, we told our authors what was needed, and they produced it brilliantly. We are especially grateful to you, our customers to our authors and to our tremendous readers.
