A Little Bit About Jeanne…
She was born on the High Plains of Kansas beside the tracks of the Santa Fe Trail and her first memories are of dust storms and tumbleweeds. The soul of her writings comes from the fantastic visions of the Southwest.
Many of Jeanne Williams’ books have been out of print but many are now available through Books In Motion in audio format. These include audiobooks published under the pen name, Jeanne Foster. Her books have won four Western Writers of America Spur Awards, and hold the Levi Strauss Saddleman Award for lifetime achievement in Western literature. She lives in a historic adobe ranch house in the Chiricahua Mountains of Southeastern Arizona.
When Mairi MacDonald loses her only daughter at birth, Mairi takes Christy into the warmth and fellowship of the close-knit island community to raise as her own, but finds it hard to welcome the waif into her heart, blaming Christy for taking the place of her true daughter. Longing for a mother’s love, Christy finds companionship with her cherished foster brother David. When David is crippled in a near fatal accident, Christy realizes the true depth of her feelings. But will he ever feel the same for her? Set amidst the rugged beauty of the Isle of Lewis in the last century, Daughter of the Storm is the dramatic tale of a young girl’s faithful love and her passion to preserve a timeless Island heritage.
