New Audiobooks!! May 23, 2013
When did well-known, bestselling books become the only writers worth paying attention to?
They aren’t. That’s what makes Books In Motion so special. We develop and introduce the world to established, well-known authors and pride ourselves in breaking new talent onto the scene! We recently received this note from a fan of Books In Motion:
“I have recently become interested in writers that do not necessarily get the press the big names do. Your company seems to have a lot of interesting authors. I like the idea of what I would see as ” not mainstream” locations and cultures being represented in novels. I am glad you are supporting these writers.”
The customer is exactly correct! Take a moment to expand your literary world and bring new voices, literally, to your senses. Visit www.booksinmotion.com today and find out what our customers are so jazzed about! Don’t like the audiobook you chose? 3 Audiobooks with Drama, Action and Adventure!
When the price of an unusual picture called a spirit photograph, which some Victorian spiritualists claimed was a photograph of the departed taken during a seance, sells at auction for over a thousand dollars, Flynn Keirnan is determined to discover the story behind it. She soon learns the ghostly images of the woman and two men in the picture were the subjects of a sensational murder trial in 1875 Chicago. A young architect was accused of killing his wife and best friend in what the local press dubbed The Free Love Murders. Flynn tracks the story through many sources, including the trial transcript, a journal kept by one of the victims, and notes from a jailhouse interview with the husband conducted by feminist firebrand Victoria Woodhull for her radical newspaper. Woodhull, also known as a spiritualist, was asked by the accused to contact the spirits of his wife and friend to obtain details about the deaths. Was it a double homicide, a double suicide, or a murder-suicide and, if so, who killed whom? Flynn Keirnan discovers the key to solving the Free Love murders lies in learning the provenance of the photograph itself. When she does she finds that, like Victoria, her own outlook on love has changed.

Death and Deception (aka Sindrome) is an action/adventure novel about the life of beautiful Eden O’Shea, a young woman caught up in an international struggle between the spiritual leader, Sai Rabah, and the evangelical ruler, Billi T. Tyler. With the help of a handsome government agent, Hans Dusson, she survives the danger and destruction planned for her, as she dares to seek the truth about the murder of her parents and her own identity. Eden is out, not only to expose the false prophets, but to find her natural mother, who was victimized by one of them. There is romance, political intrigue and a touch of glitz, as Eden travels to Great Britain, Amsterdam, Rome, and the walled city of Quebec, in her quest.

New Audiobooks! Westerns of the week!
Golden Hawk. Half white man, half Comanche. Mountain man. Pathfinder. Wagon master. Army scout. A legend in his own time. An awesome nemesis to his ememies. But a bulwark and a haven to those facing the terrors of that raw, savage land. Perhaps this is why Kathleen MacLennan was so anxious to convince Hawk to act as guide for her wagon train. It’s destination lay straight through Indian country where a murderous horde of Bannock Indians were attacking and killing wagontrain immigrants…

“The grizzly stepped back, caught Hawk with his left paw, and flung him aside like a piece of carrion. Hawk landed heavily on his back, managing somehow to hang on to the bowie knife. Dazed, bleeding from his wounds, he stared up at the slavering, bleeding jaws of the huge grizzly, no longer confident that he or his bowie could do anything more than irritate the monster. Rearing up onto his hind legs, the bear uttered a fearsome roar, then came down hard and shambled forward to finish off Hawk…”

In Our American West, Volume 1, discover humor, tragedy and courage in every one of these delightful stories. Gary McCarthy has been writing about the American West for thirty years and these are some of his favorite topics written – not for the expert or scholar – but for all the armchair admirers of thing historically written. Some of these exciting subjects are fairly well known such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, but even here you will discover things about these daring outlaws that you probably didn’t know. Stories of coyotes, burros, jackrabbits and mustangs – the “untamed ones” that are oh so very important threads in the rich and textured tapestry of our western heritage. Black Bart, the gentle stagecoach robber, Lola Montez, the famous “Spider Dancer,” Charles Russell was famous for his art, but one of his dearest friends, Will Rogers thought of him as an equally gifted storyteller. “Bet A Million” Gates whose bold Texas wager transformed the entire face and future of the American West. In this fascinating listen, you will learn about explorers, adventurers, the famous and almost famous, and about legends like Joaquin Murieta.
