Born in India, Mary Lennox is a sickly, self-centered, spoiled child. Orphaned by a cholera epidemic, she is sent to Misselthwaite Manor, England, to live with her uncle and his ailing son, Colin. While there, Mary becomes aware of a mysterious and secret garden that no one has seen in ten years. She searches for it intently and is awed when she finds it. It was the sweetest, most mysterious looking place anyone could imagine. With the help of Colin, the garden becomes a place of magical discovery - but the most important discovery occurs in the surprising and wonderful change in Mary.
