Flatboat pilot Eli McBee and his partner Seth Booker leave their former life on the great Mississippi River to seek their fortunes out west. Drawn by the promise of an unspoiled paradise rich in furs, they set their sights on the banks of the uncharted Red River. As they navigate its treacherous currents they enter the range of the fierce Kiowa, and learn why the river sometimes runs the color of blood. They come for peace and wealth, but find danger instead! They face the heat of battle, and burning passion with a beautiful Kiowa woman. For better or worse, the Red River is their home.
